REACHING OUT IN GRACE

Grace Memorial Rose GardenOUR HISTORY

Grace Episcopal Church was established in December 1981, initially conducting services at the local Catholic church until our own church was constructed in 1993.

In addition to the sanctuary that accommodates up to 150 worshipers, the building also provides office space for church staff and meeting areas used by church and community groups.

Our 2.5-acre grounds feature a lovely Memorial Rose Garden planted with approximately 150 rose bushes honoring and memorializing the lives of past Grace members and friends. In 2013 our GEMS (Grace Episcopal Men’s Society) service group provided the funding and labor to build an outdoor playground to accommodate families with young children.

WHO WE ARE

Grace has approximately 110 members, with average weekly attendance of about 50-110 participating in one or more of our worship services. A number of our members are snowbirds who winter in St. George and attend Grace four-to-six months a year.

Reflecting St. George’s role as a growing retirement community, Grace’s membership is heavily skewed to the age 55 and older population.

Our members come from a broad range of religious backgrounds, including lifelong Episcopalians and those with no or limited prior church affiliations.

Grace is a welcoming church, and we take pride in offering a friendly and inclusive environment for worship and fellowship. All are warmly accepted into the life of the church.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Bishop’s Committee members act as liaisons with each of our ministries to facilitate and coordinate all aspects of life at Grace. These ministry groups are composed of dedicated parishioners who give generously of their time and talent to ensure:

  • Our worship reflects Episcopal liturgy and traditions
  • We provide a welcoming and inclusive environment to all seeking to know and serve God
  • Parishioners have meaningful fellowship opportunities
  • We reach out with caring and generosity to the greater community beyond Grace

OUR GIVING

Grace’s stewardship campaign typically is conducted in late fall, but gifts and pledges are, of course, welcome at any time. If you would like to make a donation or pledge of support to Grace please contact the office at (435) 628-1181.
