Father Rob was born in Newark, Ohio on May 24, 1965.

He attended Newark Catholic High School; graduating in June 1983.

Fr. Rob knew he was called to be a priest in eighth grade.

He attended The Ohio State University and then The Pontifical College Josephinum; graduating in 1988 with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosopy.

Fr. Rob was then sent to graduate school seminary at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

He was ordained Deacon on April 13, 1991 in The Basilica Of The National Shrine Of The Immaculate Conception by His Eminence Agostine Cardinal Cacciavillan, Apostolic Nuncio To The United States.

Fr. Rob graduated from Catholic University in May 1992 with a Masters degree in Theology.

He was ordained Priest on June 6, 1992 in St. Joseph Cathedral by The Most Reverend James A. Griffin, Bishop of Columbus, Ohio.

Fr. Rob was assigned as Associate Pastor of St. Agatha Church in Upper Arlington, Ohio in July, 1992.

Continuing as Associate Pastor, Fr. Rob was appointed Master of Pontifical Ceremonies to The Bishop in December 1992.

In July 1994, Fr. Rob was named Secretary to Bishop James A. Griffin and sent to graduate studies in Rome, Italy.

Shortly after arriving in Rome, on November 1, 1994, Fr. Rob was appointed Inernal Assistant to Pope John Paul II. Following that appointment, he was also named legal consultant to The United States Embassy To The Holy See.

Fr. Rob completed his studies in Canon Law in 1998 and was named Vice Chancellor of The Catholic Diocese of Columbus and Episcopal Vicar For Spiritual Life. He continued in his role as Secretary to the Bishop and Master of Pontifical Ceremonies.

After several years in that position he was named Pastor of the Perry County Consortium of Parishes. This assignment included being Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church and its K-8 school in New Lexington, Ohio; St. Patrick Church in Junction City, Ohio; St. Bernard Church in Corning, Ohio and Church of the Atonement in Crooksville, Ohio. Fr. Rob's tenure there saw great increases in attendance at all churches and the school was saved from closure.

In 2005, Fr. Rob transferred into The Episcopal Church being received by Bishop Kenneth Price. 

He worked for a time as a licensed funeral director for the Schoedinger Funeral Home.

In 2009, his priestly orders were received by Bishop Thomas Breidenthal of The Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio. Fr. Rob was promptly elected the 28th Rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Zanesville, Ohio. He remained there for fourteen years until he was chosen to lead Grace Episcopal Church, St. George, Utah; Spirit Of The Desert Church, Ivins, Utah and St. Jude Church; Cedar City, Utah.

Tyson Lewis
Bishop's Warden

Tyson Lewis was born in Henderson, Nevada on May 26, 1996. He spent his childhood years in Moapa, Nevada with a stint of four years in Utah split between Eagle Mountain and Lehi. His family eventually settled in Las Vegas where he attended Shadow Ridge High School, graduating in 2014. He attended the University of Nevada, Reno where he graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and a Minor in Mathematics. He worked as a systems engineer in Los Angeles, eventually transferring to Layton, Utah. There he transitioned to a new position as a database specialist with the Utah State Historic Preservation Office where he still works.

While living in Layton, Tyson met his future wife Tylee in May 2021. They were married in Idaho Falls in June 2024. Shortly after, they moved to their current home in Hurricane, Utah. They have one dog, a Havanese named Meeko. He enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, tabletop games, and reading.

Tyson was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At 18, he left the LDS church and was an atheist for nearly 10 years. After moving to southern Utah, Tyson and his wife explored various churches in the area before finding the wonderful and welcoming community at Grace Episcopal Church. He has become deeply involved in the church as an acolyte and lector. He was appointed Bishop’s Warden in April 2025 and hopes to eventually become a priest in the Episcopal Church.
